David Abramson, J.D.
David is a principal at SDA Ventures, a consulting firm that advises on corporate development, business acquisition, customer relationships, growth strategies and finance in health, nutritional products, food ingredients and service. He was president of Martek Biosciences, which was sold to Royal DSM, and served as a Senior Advisor to DSM Nutritional Products on new corporate opportunities. He also played a leadership role in the sale of U.S. Foodservice to Royal Ahold.

Peter Erickson
As Executive VP, Innovation, Technology and Quality, at General Mills, Peter led a globally diverse team focused on inventing advantaged food products to nourish consumer lives. He cultivated trustworthy brands using attention to quality, food safety and technical excellence, and efforts to embrace open innovation and venture investing. Peter is the cofounder and past board chair for Partners in Food Solutions, and sits on the University of Minnesota Venture Center Advisory Group and the University of Massachusetts Food Science Advisory Board.

Dr. Nora Fortune
Dr. Fortune is a practicing veterinarian with over 30 years’ experience owning one of the largest and most well-respected veterinary hospitals in the Peterborough area. She is one of the first investors in Noblegen, was a member of the first Noblegen Advisory Board in 2013, is a shareholder in Noble Holdings and played a significant role in getting Noble Purification established and in evolving the business into Noblegen Inc. Dr Fortune has a background in animal agriculture and maple syrup production. She is a mentor for the health sciences program at Trent University and volunteers her time at the local animal shelter.

Jim Kirkwood
Cross-functional excellence in innovation, R&D, marketing, management, operations, central research and quality for food and agriculture. Jim is the former Chief Science and Technology Development Officer at General Mills, where he founded the GTECH (Global Center for Tech).

Gwyn Morgan, CM
Gwyn Morgan, a Member of The Order of Canada and an inductee to the Alberta Business Hall of Fame, devoted three decades to building North America’s largest independent energy company. When he stepped down as founding CEO of at the end of 2006, EnCana Corporation had an enterprise value of $60 billion. Gwyn has served as a director of five global corporations including London-based HSBC. He has been recognized as Canada’s Outstanding CEO of the Year and also as Canada’s Most Respected CEO. He is the recipient of three Honorary Degrees and several business leader awards from Canadian universities.

Kathleen Ramsay
Kate is a business owner, venture philanthropist and angel investor, and holds the Institute of Corporate Directors designation. She served as a director of James Richardson & Sons, one of Canada’s largest family enterprises with businesses in agriculture, energy, financial services and real estate, as well as a Trustee of the Richardson Foundation and on Trent University’s Board of Governors. She has played governance and leadership roles in education, conservation, arts and the community.

Donald Solman
As CFO of James Richardson & Sons, Donald directs financial and strategic activities, including treasury, banking, financial reporting, risk management and formulating, and recommending financial policies and plans. He is on the board of JRSL’s subsidiaries Richardson International, Lombard Realty, Richardson Financial Group, Tundra Oil & Gas, Tundra Energy Marketing, and Wynward Insurance Group and is Chairman of the James Richardson & Sons Pension Trustee and Investment Committee.
